Bassem Tamimi and the fight for justice in Palestine

  • University of Sydney Broadway Chippendale, NSW, 2008 Australia (map)

Bassem Tamimi comes from the village of Nabi Saleh in the occupied West Bank, where the residents have been staging a defiant protest against the Israeli occupation every Friday since 2009.

Widely circulated footage of the violent arrest of Bassem's son Muhammad provided a glimpse into the current reality of Palestinian oppression, as has the subsequent backlash against the Tamimi family and the attacks on the right of Palestinians to protest.

This is an incredibly rare opportunity to hear from an experienced activist who is, quite literally, on the front lines of the struggle for justice in Palestine.

Bassem will be speaking at Sydney University on Tuesday 11th of April at 6:30pm.
