Topic - is a one state solution possible for Palestine-Israel?
When Michael visited Palestine-Israel in 2020 he was confronted by disturbing realities: the sick nature of Israeli society; the lack of unity or clear purpose among Palestinians; and the impossibility of any two state solution. He concluded there is no two state configuration which would offer the sort of justice for Palestinians which could in turn deliver a sustainable peace. Following others, it crystalised in his mind that peace can only be achieved through one democratic state - a one state solution. Is this realistic? Would it represent a just outcome? How can it be achieved? What can the international friends of Palestine do to advance this outcome?
