Israel has started a new phase in its genocide of the Palestinian people, through its assault on the West Bank towns of Jenin, Tulkarem, and Tubas. Israel has stated that this is the largest invasion of the West Bank since its 2002 “Operation Defensive Shield”.
The Israeli military has reportedly cut off water, power and the internet in Jenin, isolating it from the rest of the world. The sewage system doesn’t work, infrastructure is destroyed and food is scarce. Israeli military bulldozers are ripping up the streets and blocking movement of people and cars.
Clearly, since it has continued to conduct this genocide with impunity, Israel is taking advantage and intends to clear out the West Bank of Palestinians. Dozens of Palestinians have been killed and wounded in this assault. Al Jazeera reports that since 7 October 2023 to 1 September 2024, at least 676 Palestinians have been killed including 152 children, with more than 5,400 wounded.
We are outraged that our government says NOTHING, does NOTHING and continues ti support Israel.
We demand:
an immediate and permanent ceasefire
that unfettered humanitarian aid immediately is allowed into Gaza
that our government imposes sanctions on Israel
that our government recalls the Australian ambassador to Israel and expels the Israeli Ambassador to Australia
that Australia establishes an arms embargo on Israel and all defense materiel produced in Australia is banned from being sent to Israel
an end to the occupation and apartheid.
