Adelaide’s Next Palestine Solidarity Rally

Parliament House Steps

2pm Sunday 25 August 2024

We will not stop! We will not forget!

Rally again with your friends, family members and Palestine supporters from all over South Australia!.

The response of both the Liberal Party and the Labor Party to the destruction of Gaza by Israel and the genocide of its people will be an eternal shame on Australia. In the face of mountains of evidence, rulings by the International Court of Justice, positive steps by other countries, and overwhelming support by the Australian people for Gaza, our politicians have failed spectacularly to stand up for international law and justice!

We have seen the Liberals grow ever closer to the Israeli position on the destruction of Gaza and occupation of the West Bank, while Labor has remained too scared to act in any meaningful or effective way to pressure Israel to cease its genocidal behaviour and to abide by International Law.

The Australian Greens Party has stood out for their courageous and principled stand on Palestine and the genocide in Gaza. They have faced vicious attacks from the major parties, and the Murdoch press which seeks to portray them antisemitic and supporters of terrorism. Despite all of this, they have not backed down.

Come and hear Katie McCusker, Greens candidate for the Federal seat of Sturt speak about Gaza at this Sunday’s rally. She will be joined by South Australian Palestinian activist, Farah Babaa.

Our demands are:

  • an immediate and permanent ceasefire

  • that unfettered humanitarian aid immediately is allowed into Gaza

  • that our government imposes sanctions on Israel

  • that our government recalls the Australian ambassador to Israel and expels the Israeli Ambassador to Australia

  • that Australia establishes an arms embargo on Israel and all defense materiel produced in Australia is banned from being sent to Israel

  • an end to the occupation and apartheid.
