The genocide continues unabated as world leaders, including our leaders in Australia aid and abet the atrocities perpetrated on the Palestinian people in both Gaza and the West Bank.
After the International Court of Justice ordered Israel to cease its offensive in Rafah, Israel continued the onslaught and on 27 May, it bombed a displaced persons camp massacring over 45 people, including children, many of whom burnt to death as their tents were caught up in a raging fire.
What did our government say? Our Foreign Minister blamed Hamas and perpetuated the fantasy that it’s all about the Israeli hostages:
Australia is incapable of expressing outrage at Israel’s behaviour and appears to be unwilling to demand that Israel act according to International Law. Israel must be subject to international pressure, not mealy mouthed words!
We demand the following:
an immediate and permanent ceasefire
that unfettered humanitarian aid immediately is allowed into Gaza
that our government imposes sanctions on Israel
that our government recalls the Australian ambassador to Israel and expels the Israeli Ambassador to Australia
that Australia establishes an arms embargo on Israel and all defense materiel produced in Australia is banned from being sent to Israel
an end to the occupation and apartheid
