National Day of Action 25th May
No Trade with Apartheid Israel!

Adelaide based Australian Friends of Palestine Association (AFOPA) is proud to be involved with the national action calling for a boycott of Israeli company, Zim Shipping, and an end to all trade with Israel through Australian ports. AFOPA has strongly supported the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement since 2009 and have held weekly BDS actions in the heart of Adelaide for almost 14 years. As renowned Israeli journalist, Gideon Levy, said BDS is “the only game in town” for the Palestinians. The Unionists4Palestine SA’s action at Port Adelaide on 25 May along with the actions at ports in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Tasmania is a significant step forward in showing Israelis that there will be a devastating economic cost to their country if they pursue their policies of ethnic cleansing and genocide against the Palestinians. NATIONAL DAY OF ACTION 25th MAY STATEMENT: During our boycott campaign against the Israeli ZIM shipping company a variety of different tactics were used as part of the BDS movement against Apartheid Israel.
This time we are marching on ports all around the country to expand the campaign and elevate our demands. For this national day of action we DO NOT INTEND TO BLOCKADE OR PICKET across any ports - the intent is to amass large crowds across all Australian ports to unify our calls to boycott Apartheid Israel and stop the genocide in Gaza.
We call on all sections of our community and all supportive organisations to join the rally. We encourage families, unions, Arab and Palestinian communities, students, and anti-Zionist Jews to take part in this mass demonstration. We call on Everyone who wants to see justice and freedom for the Palestinians to rally and march with us on May 25 to demand:
no trade with Apartheid Israel
cut ties with Apartheid Israel
cease fire now
drop all charges against arrestees who peacefully protested to demand a cease fire!
