Protest Israeli Apartheid

Sydney, NSW

2019-03-sydney-protest.jpg

Every year since 30 March 1976, Palestinians have commemorated land day - a day in which Israel illegally confiscated large areas of land and displaced Palestinians in order to build illegal settlements. Last year in Gaza the commemorations took a mass character, with around 30,000 Gazans attending the Land day protest and kicked off the Great March of Return - a protest movement that seeks to draw attention to the issue of Palestinian refugees as well as the decaying social conditions in Gaza as a result of Israel’s decade long military blockade. Israel has responded to this movement by brutally suppressing it, deploying its military might on civilians. Over 200 have been murdered by Israel and tens of thousands injured. Protest organisers have put the call out for Palestine supporters to join them for a Global March of Return on Land Day 2019.

Saturday 30 March 2019, 1:00pm-3:00pm

Venue: First Fleet Park, Circular Quay West, Sydney
