Boycott Eurovision 2019 - Organising Meeting

Brisbane, QLD

The Australian Eurovision national selection show is going to be held on the Gold Coast on 9 February 2019.

Israel is hosting the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2019, following Netta Barzilai’s win in Eurovision 2018.

In support of the Palestinian cultural boycott call we are urging SBS not to participate in or broadcast Eurovision 2019 from Israel and for participating artists to respect the boycott and not perform in Tel Aviv.

Join us for an organising meeting on the 21st January at 6:30pm, second floor of the TLC building, 16 Peel Street, South Brisbane. Parking available underneath the building.

The meeting will discuss the importance of the cultural boycott and help organise a protest outside the National Selection show on 9 February 2019.

We love SBS and many people love Eurovision, but surely human rights are more valuable than a song contest? Surely international law is more important than advertising dollars?

Israel is shamelessly using Eurovision as part of its official brand Israel strategy, which attempts to whitewash and distract attention from its war crimes against Palestinians.

Holding Eurovision 2019 in Israel whitewashes apartheid.
