RETROSPECTIVE FILM SCREENING: Special screening of the film, Wedding in Galilee, the first Palestinian film to appear at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the International Critics’ Prize in 1987.
Meet director Michel Khleifi at an exclusive screening of one of Khleifi's first films, Wedding in Galilee. Set in a Galilean Arab village following the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the film was groundbreaking when it hit cinema and television screens right across the world in 1987. The film was the first Palestinian production to appear at the Cannes Film Festival, where it won the International Critics’ Prize (also in 1987).
A Wedding in Galilee will be shown at the Palace Norton Street, Leichhardt on Thursday 19 January 2017 at 6:30 pm followed by a special Q&A. Tickets will be available to purchase via Palace Cinemas [www.palacecinemas.com.au ] soon.
